James Patten
Vice President, Sales and Business Development

James Patten started at Inflection Point Media in April of 2011 as Vice President Sales and Sales Development to further build out the sales team.

Prior to Inflection Point Media, Mr. Patten worked at Harvard Business Review for eight years serving most recently as Director Integrated Sales & Solutions worldwide. James was responsible for strategic sales, developing integrated programs and digital solutions. He led the worldwide sales team while working on the launch of the website, new online platforms and digital offerings. James was awarded the first ever companywide One Enterprise Award for business entrepreneurship.

Mr. Patten joined Harvard Business Review from Forbes Inc. where he served as a Regional Sales Director in the East Coast. Before, Forbes Magazine, James spent a year at Business Insurance, Crain’s Communications and before that was at BusinessWeek Magazine in the marketing/conference department.

James currently serves on the Avon Old Farms Athletic Hall of Fame Committee (an inductee since ’11), on the NC Lacrosse Advisory Board, and involved with the IAA, FCB and IAB associations.

Mr. Patten holds a bachelor of history degree from Hobart College, spent several years coaching lacrosse at Colgate University and recently completed the Stanford University Executive Course: Stanford Publishing Course: Publishing on the Web. Of note, James is a three time National Champion while playing lacrosse at Hobart. He lives in New Canaan, CT with his wife and three children and two dogs.
